To get good targeted traffic to your websites, it is important to do keyword marketing  research as this is needed for effective article marketing.When a person goes to a search engine such as google and puts in a word or phrase into the search bar, this is called a keyword or long tail keyword. You need to do research on what keywords rank well and people are looking for.

A great tool such as google adwords keyword tool will tell you how many times a certain keyword has been searched in a month. I will give you an example below. The keyword I have chosen which I think people might search for to make money online is “make money online opportunity”, I then enter the security word and press get keyword ideas. The reason why I chose this keyword is because it is long tail, meaning it has more than 3 words, which is more targeted.

Then you will be on the results page.

Where you see the red square, which I have highlighted, change the match type to phrase. This makes the search more targeted and means they are searching for that exact keyword.You want to get at least 500 global searches per month. I know that it doesn’t sound like much, but just remember you can choose different keywords to use in different articles. If you have done your keyword marketing properly you should get good results.Try to choose 10 keywords, which will get you enough traffic to start earning at ACME. One keyword per article.You can see our keyword on the first line which is 3,600 times that keyword was searched in a month. You always want to  check the global monthly search volume. There are probably better keywords out there, but this is just an example on the steps to take on finding the right keyword.

Next you have to check how many sites google are competing for this keyword. The least amount of sites competing the better, I usually don’t go over 100,000. Go to google.com and put your keyword between ” “.Click on my image to take a closer look.

The area I have circled in red shows how many competing websites for this keyword, which is 55,300 and is pretty good.If you pass both of these steps in this keyword marketing research tutorial, then you know that you have found the right keyword to use.

Now you are ready to write your article.

When writing your article it is important to include your keyword in the heading, first paragraph and also last paragraph. Always aim to write at least 300 words or more and include your keyword every 100 words. Try to include your keyword naturally, don’t just put it in a sentence which doesn’t make sense. Google may penalize you for keyword stuffing. Just write as if you are talking to someone and it should come out naturally.

If this is your first time writing articles, don’t worry, it gets easier once you start to write more articles and get more confidence in your writing. If you are unsure of what to write, try visiting some of the websites that are competing for your keyword, to get an idea of what you may want to write about. But it is very important that you do not copy any content and always re-write them in your own words.
